PR Works

Endorsements from our clients

Paul Clement
Executive Director, Ipswich Central

Ipswich Central is the Business Improvement District (BID) company for the town centre and has a mandate from all rate paying businesses in the town centre to deliver additional wide-ranging services on their behalf.

A key factor is to communicate the various activities of the company to diverse audiences - business leaders, their staff, customers and potential visitors. With this in mind, we appointed Tim Sheldon of the PR Works, to act for us in heading up our communication processes. In all aspects, achievements to date have far outweighed even our high expectations.

Tim's creative approach to positioning messages to suit the target audience has paid dividends for us and has been crucial to our success. His knowledge, both of the way in which the media operates and of the personalities who work within it, has been vital in getting the messages we want to get across in the most powerful and meaningful way.

He is highly skilled at selecting opportunities for new stories and then positioning them for maximum publicity. Tim's role is integrated into our full business processes and he has a full involvement in all non-media communication as well. It is an important skill, therefore, for him to be able to fit into the entire team and he has achieved this very skillfully.

There is little more that I can say other than that Tim has worked with us for some 5 years because the return that we have received on our investment in using him has been so substantial. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

William Coe
Chairman, Ipswich Central & Director of Coes

I am writing on behalf of Ipswich Partnership to thank you for all the support you have given the successful Ipswich BID.

From nothing 6 years ago to the guaranteed funding of in excess of £3m over the next 5 years is a fantastic achievement, one that I believe that you have been involved with almost from day one, and you should be justifiably proud of.

The campaign would not have been as strong without your excellent PR that was well managed throughout; in fact I don't think we had one piece of negative publicity. Many thanks again for all your efforts and I look forward to working with you with more projects in the future.

Stephen Cole
Headmaster, Woodbridge School

You and I arrived into the Seckford Foundation fold at the same time in January 1994. It was not only because of that I immediately struck up an empathy with you and in simple terms working with you has been an absolute delight – and never anything other than that.

You have done an enormous amount to turn the public face of the school from what it was to what it is now.

You have been a wonderful source of advice and humour and have become during those eight years a really very good friend. I am going to miss you professionally but I am so glad that you are still there both as a friend and parent.

Stephen Fletcher
Property Consultant

Now that the dust has settled, a note to thank you for all of the excellent work you have done for the Seckford Foundation over the past eight years or so.

During that time, we have made significant progress in the management, achievement and objectives within the Foundation.

Your role has been an important and integral one to that success and for your efforts we are most grateful.

James Hopkins
Managing Director, Hopkins Homes

I confirm that Tim's company has worked for Hopkins Homes on both a retainer and ad hoc basis over a number of years as it has been important for our company, being a leading regional developer, to have a good local public relations and marketing professional with a sound knowledge of both our product and the market areas that we develop in.

Tim has provided an excellent service to us and I have no hesitation in recommending the services and experience of PR Works.

Nicholas Goodwin
Finance Director, Jeyes, Thetford

I worked with Tim for over 5 years until we switched PR companies in accordance with our shareholders corporate requirements.

During that time, Tim and I worked upon local media relations, developing a corporate identity through our web-site and brochure and setting up a crisis management procedure.

I found Tim's approach highly professional. In addition he was well-connected, good fun to work with and proactive in challenging me.

Jonathon Ripman
Chairman Cancer Campaign in Suffolk, partner Gotelees & Governor Woodbridge School

I have worked closely and very successfully with Tim Sheldon on two occasions. As a Governor of the Seckford Foundation and Chairman of the School Committee at Woodbridge School I found his media connections invaluable, his availability at all hours (by that I mean 24/7) very comforting and his crisis management skills (a freak skiing accident left a 6th former paralysed) absolutely top drawer.

Tim handled the immediate aftermath of the tragedy with great skill and a legal suit in the High Court (the pupil sued the School for millions of pounds) which saw the School found 50% liable following a long trial before being vindicated in the Court of Appeal, with professionalism I would describe as breathtaking. Yes, it was difficult, very difficult and he was brilliant.

Then, as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Cancer Campaign in Suffolk, I observed Tim's skills in a re-branding exercise and re-launch. Clearly Tim has these skills as well as the launch and re-brand went off without hiccup and to the huge satisfaction of my fellow Trustees.

Jeremy Prior
Managing Director, JSM Property

JSM Property employed the services of Tim Sheldon and the PR Works on a consultative basis for over two years.

Throughout this time I found Tim to be amazingly productive and good value for money. Tim was responsible for raising the Companies profile across East Anglia by using his excellent press contacts and many favourable articles were published within several publications across the region as a result.

I can thoroughly recommend the PR Works as being a 'client sensitive', productive PR business and one which is always prepared to go that extra mile and whose services represent extremely good value for money.

Mark Nicholson
Senior Partner, Nicholsons Solicitors, Lowestoft

Tim has helped us through practical, promotional advice and guidance at board level.

Being situated in the north east of Suffolk we have a requirement to keep on the map. He has given us great assistance in our planning for the future and demonstrated considerable skill in an important area of PR which is sometimes undervalued or not recognised, keeping us out of the regional press and minimising adverse publicity when we were the victim of a fraud by our accounts manager.

We would highly recommend him.

Dennis Embleton
Managing Director, George East Housewares, Leiston

Thank you Tim for everything. It has proved very worthwhile and taught us Philistines a great lesson too. So a big thank you to you from all of us.

Matthew Henry
Managing Director, Swoffers Estate Agents, Guernsey

I have known and worked with Tim Sheldon for five years having been recommended to use him for his PR skills.

Tim's brief with Swoffers is to increase our UK presence in the media putting both Swoffers and Guernsey on the map and making it known to residents of the United Kingdom. Some of the publicity he has gained for us includes:-

News coverage within the Country Life including much editorial in a recent Guernsey Supplement. He also arranged for property writer Penny Churchill to come over to the island and write a piece on Guernsey and in respect of a very prestigious house that we have had for sale.

He has gained us a double page spread in The Times' Bricks and Mortar which was written by Mary Gold who he arranged to visit the island. He also arranged for her to attend radio interviews with BBC Radio Guernsey and the Guernsey Press on her views of the island.

Tim organised a visit from John Carey of the Daily Telegraph who wrote a glowing piece on Guernsey (Tim managed to get a photo of me in the article which is highly unusual) that appeared in 2008 we have had visits from the Daily Express and a property freelancer.

He handled all the international publicity for the sale of Belvedere House, one of the most prestigious houses in Channel Islands sold by the States of Guernsey. Extensive coverage was obtained in Country Life, Daily Express, Daily Telegraph, The Times (derived from press trip from the architectural correspondent) and London Evening Standard and other international publications

Tim organised a press visit from the business editor and London correspondent of The FT who have produced a supplement on Guernsey business.

In addition to this side of the media, Tim has also introduced us to other firms of Estate Agents who may have clients that they can refer to our office, some useful intermediaries and arranged contacts and events with Christies auction house.

In all our dealings with Tim has been professional and accurate. He visits Guernsey every 6 weeks or so to ensure that he continues to build our relationship and bearing in mind this means a 3 hour drive and then an hour's flight – I am sure you can see his commitment.

I would thoroughly recommend using Tim's skills from our own personal dealings with him.

Graham Cooper
Bursar, Old Buckenham Hall prep school

Thank you for your sound advice and proactive help in the management of some rather challenging times.

We appreciated in particular your ability to react quickly and offer sound, considered advice in a timely manner. We will keep in touch and look forward to working with you again.

Richard Harvey-Jones
MD of Seckford Wines

PR does work and we have been impressed by the hard work and intelligence that Tim has applied to telling the world about Seckford Wines.
